Recent projects - Bear
Sorcha and Niamh worked together on a project about bears. They started with Paddington.
Sorcha made a drawing of a polar bear and together they sculpted a polar bear on an icecap..
They rolled out clay, cut shapes and joined them together, to form the polar bear, and fired it in the kiln.
A number of students with support needs attend, either independently, or referred by various service providers.
Their work is inspired by Camphill Community craft workshops in county Kildare.
A project with Gheel Centre in Drumcondra involved students in making garden pots and a ceramic mural for their garden .
The students studied plants and creatures in the Botanic Gardens, worked on individual clay pieces in the studio , which they decorated with coloured slip and fired. Pieces were assembled for a mural which was mounted on the wall of the garden shed.
